Effortless Transitions for Fall

As we continue into the fall season, the transition to cooler days and darker nights brings a longing to making our homes feel cozy and inviting. As we look for ways to embrace the changing season and it’s tempting to make a drastic design change. If you’re anything like we are, we love any moment that calls to redecorate! But there’s plenty of ways to make your home feel like a cozy haven with a few simple swaps and effortless transitions. Our team got together and discussed our favorite ways to prepare our home for fall.

1. Introduce Fall Textures and Hues

Keep your changes minimal and simply swap out your cushion covers to moody deep colors or bring in more textured materials, and don’t forget a cozy blanket to add extra warm. This is a simple way to add subtle interest whilst adding character and warmth.

2. Rearrange Your Furniture

“When the weather kicks and we want to feel cozy, we move the dining table in front of the fireplace, it doesn't cost anything to do but changes everything,” says Becky LaRoche, our Textile Director. Simply switching around your rooms to make for a more warming room is an easy way to transition into the season.

3. Restock Your Bar

As the weather get cooler, you’ll be spending more time inside, so stock your bar with fall-hued glassware and your favorite liquors reminiscent of the season. We love to shake up a Harvest 75, an autumn twist on the French 75 and a Fritz Porter Favorite.

1. ) 1-1/2 oz Gin, Pour into a shaker with ice

2.) 3/4 oz lemon juice (we prefer fresh squeezed)

3.) 3/4 oz Simple Syrup

4.) Strain into a glass, like our
Estelle Colored Glass Coups

5.) Top off with Sparkling Cider and Garnish with a Lemon Twist

4. Layer with Fall Foliage

This time of the year, decor trends tend to lean more cheesy than chic. To keep your festive decor tasteful, we like to introduce fall foliage through actual flowers, object, or textiles. This will can make your home feel more in tune with the season.

5. Set the Table

Fall is a fabulous time to invite friends and family into your home, so set your table with the colors of fall. Change your dinnerware, decorate with dried floral arrangements, and stock up on votives and candles to bring a warm and inviting glow.
