Today, we're excited to introduce a new member of our team, Julia Costantino, who has recently stepped into the role of Showroom Assistant. Julia brings with her a vibrant passion for the interiors and textile world, coupled with a rich background in arts management and marketing. Let's dive into a conversation with Julia to discover more about her journey, inspiration, and what she looks forward to in her new role.
What is your background (school, the start of your career, etc)?
J: Originally from South Jersey, I decided to go to the College of Charleston and landed on a major in Arts Management with a minor in Marketing. During and in my first year after college I was working in the gallery scene in Downtown Charleston before I dove into the interior design world and joined the team at Fritz Porter.
What inspired you to pursue a career in the interiors/textile world?
J: Working in a creative field was always the route I knew I would take. Growing up with my Mom in real estate and my Dad a contractor, the interior design field has always been on my mind. I feel really lucky to live in Charleston where design flourishes.
What has been the most interesting aspect of working at Fritz Porter?
J: Since I have not worked in the interior design field before, it has been really interesting to start to learn the ins and outs of it. I am excited to make connections and see more of the process of the projects going on here at Fritz Porter.

"I feel really lucky to live in Charleston where design flourishes."
Fritz Porter is located in Charleston, how does the rich cultural and architectural heritage of Charleston influence you?
J: One thing I have always loved about Charleston is the way people love to dress up for any occasion, and I really think this carries into peoples homes, restaurants, and the hotels here in Charleston. It is inspiring to see the way people bring Charleston's historic homes and landmarks back to life while still keeping their character and charm.
Looking forward, what are some interior design trends you are excited to explore with Fritz Porter?
J: I love to see mixing bold colors, patterns and textures, and vintage and antique pieces coming together all in one room. Eclectic style with historic charm has always caught my eye. I am excited to see all of those elements come together in the Fritz Porter projects.
