Volga Linen, an esteemed British brand, has been synonymous with creativity and craftsmanship since its inception in 1995. With a reputation for producing heirloom-quality pure linen fabric and home products, Volga Linen has garnered a loyal following from renowned interior designers and private clients who appreciate the artistry and longevity of the fabrics that grace their homes. We are excited to share the world of Volga Linen at Fritz Porter.
From Rich Weaves to Folkloric Prints: Volga Linen's Unique Styles
Volga Linen has cultivated two distinct styles over the years: the striking, richly-hued plain weave fabrics and folkloric prints, and the crisp, classic bed linens and exquisite drawn thread fabrics. Under Claire's creative direction, both aspects of the brand will gradually expand. Following the success of the graphically bold botanical Persian Poppy in Red, launched last year as Claire's first design for the Print Collection, Volga Linen will introduce Persian Poppy in Cornflower Blue this spring.
Additionally, Volga Linen will continue to celebrate their bold color palette, encouraging clients to be confident in their choices. This year, the brand will add new colorways to their collection of striped linen, including a narrow stripe of Cornflower Blue and Terracotta on natural linen and a wide stripe Prussian Blue on natural.
"Historically, Volga has always been 100% linen, and we are incredibly proud of that heritage. Now, we are looking to evolve our fabrics with a blend of natural fibers, including silk, hemp, and wool."
Embracing Sustainability and Innovation
For nearly three decades, Volga Linen has sourced pure linen from Eastern Europe, making it a sustainable and environmentally friendly choice for modern, eco-conscious consumers. This year, for the first time, the brand will offer a range of blended fabrics. As Claire explains, "Historically, Volga has always been 100% linen, and we are incredibly proud of that heritage. Now, we are looking to evolve our fabrics with a blend of natural fibers, including silk, hemp, and wool. This will bring new and visually exciting qualities and textures to our range."
