We are proud to support the Historic Charleston Foundation, and their mission of preservation, over the past two years they have celebrated the holiday season with Illumination Charleston, a series of events centered around history, design, architecture, and the beloved Aiken-Rhett House, where designers are invited to put their spin on the historic space. “Designers and vignettes must compliment the space and pay homage to the delicate history and fragile physical environment in which they will be stated,” says HCF’s Roualeyn de Haas in a recent Veranda feature. “With preservation as inspiration, the vignettes are a reinterpretation of a preserved and historical space using contemporary design.”
While all the designers and tastemakers blew us away with their designs, we're still swooning over Interior designer Cortney Bishop’s take on the double parlor which she filled with #fritzporterfinds and other artisan pieces that brought a contemporary touch to this historic estate, let's get the look.

About Cortney Bishop
Cortney’s design vision runs the gamut of style and structure, balancing creativity, comfort, and functionality with a dose of modern flair. She attributes her innate ability to mix patterns and hues to her love for travel, art, fashion, and music. Ultimately, the path to interior design became inevitable as Cortney realized she could blend these passions. Specializing in custom residential builds, Cortney has grown her business by collaborating with homeowners, architects, and contractors to create a robust portfolio of diverse, inspiring homes – each reflective of a client’s lifestyle and personality. Cortney has also earned success in multi-family communities as well as in the commercial realm – most recently with hotel, restaurant, and storefront projects.
